Spring 2026 represented a special moment of sharing and exchange for Smarties.bio. With three Open Days organized at our headquarters and showcase fields in Veneto, we welcomed students, professional growers, and enthusiasts from the sector to experience firsthand our work, our vision, and our daily commitment to genetic improvement and seed production. Three different days, united by the same goal: to let people live the Smarties.bio experience.
April 17: education and future with the Agricultural Institute "IIS Alberto Parolini" The first event on April 17 was dedicated to educating the new generations. We had the pleasure of hosting the third and fourth year classes from the agricultural institute "IIS Alberto Parolini", guiding them through a technical journey designed to explore the world of varietal selection. During the visit, students were able to learn about:
- The stages of breeding
- Varietal selection processes
- Seed reproduction
- The importance of research for innovation in horticulture
A concrete opportunity to bring future professionals closer to the daily work behind each variety, from the selection of parental lines to seed production. The direct exchange and the many questions made the day particularly engaging and rich in content.
May 8: the first spring Open Day open to the public
On May 8, we opened our doors to customers, technicians, and enthusiasts for a complete tour of our demo fields. Participants had the opportunity to discover how we grow our products with passion and quality, observing up close various crops such as radicchio, endive, lettuce, brassicas, onion, baby leaf, and many other varieties under development. During the day, we shared our company vision, based on genetic innovation, sustainability, and attention to modern market needs. The direct interaction in the fields allowed for deeper insights into varietal characteristics, agronomic performance, and production opportunities.
May 21: exchange and sharing to grow together
The second Open Day open to the public, held on May 21, replicated the success of the previous event, offering another opportunity for meeting and dialogue. On this day as well, we guided visitors through the demo fields, presenting new varieties, ongoing trials, and development strategies. It was an important moment to gather feedback, share experiences, and strengthen relationships with those who choose our varieties every day.

The spring Open Days were the perfect opportunity to discover our values, our innovations, and the people who make it all possible. Whether students, technicians, or growers, each participant was able to immerse themselves in the Smarties.bio atmosphere and experience our “Grow Different” approach firsthand.
