The Event:
Since 1988, the Padua market-festival has been a reference point for those seeking organic ideas and products. During the event, visitors could stroll among the stalls of farmers, bakers, cheesemakers, artisans, and associations, in a square designed to welcome families. There were creative workshops, games, and animals for children, while adults enjoyed debates, guided tours, and theatrical performances that enlivened the day from dawn to dusk.

The event was organized by the El Biologico in Piassa Association, in collaboration with AIAB Veneto and Tuttaunaltracosa, the national fair trade festival, with the support of the Municipality of Padua.
“Padua and its community boast a long tradition in the organic sector, marked by a cultural movement dating back to the 1970s,” recalled Franco Zecchinato. An approach that has always placed food production at the center of human relationships and the pursuit of greater sustainability.
This year’s edition stood out for the presence of dozens of agricultural producers, artisans, and associations, offering a rich program of tastings, talks, workshops, and activities for all ages. Among the highlights were the presentation of the El Tamiso Foundation, a seminar on agroecology, meetings dedicated to Participatory Certification, the launch of the Euganean Hills Biodistrict, and the presentation of local projects such as Atlante del Cibo, Coltiva Padova, and SAUR.
In this setting, we at Smarties.bio could not miss the opportunity. We took part with our own stand, presenting our values, products, ideas, and commitment to healthy, sustainable, and environmentally friendly food. Our space became a meeting point to share experiences, promote organic culture, and bring the public closer to the philosophy behind every Smarties.bio product.
