The "sabionanti" of Sottomarina.
This volume brings together the findings of research developed by the Stefano Andrea Renier Study and Intervention Committee of Chioggia (carried out by Fabrizio Boscolo, Cinzio Gibin and Pier Giorgio Tiozzo) within a project supported by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Chioggia and by the Sottomarina District Council, aimed at creating a documentation center on the Chioggia area and the history of Sottomarina.
On the basis of oral testimonies, photographic documentation collected from the families of former sabionanti, and a few rare photographic reports, the book presents a journey into the world of the sabionanti and Sottomarina, highlighting their significant intertwining.
The discussion is developed mainly through images, but it is characterized by the framing of the themes addressed, achieved through a clear and explanatory text and a chapter structure, each chapter opening with an introductory sheet, as a stimulus for integrating different paths of knowledge.
The photographic reproductions were made by Lino Fornaro and Renato de Ambrosi, and the drawings by Rosario Santamaria. The book is enriched by the introduction by Dino de Antoni and by the specific contributions of Professors Manlio Cortelazzo (dialectology), Piergiorgio Jobstraibizer (mineralogy), and Marcello Zunica (geography) of the University of Padua.
The book is available exclusively in Italian.
