Artichoke seeds
Smarties.bio artichoke seeds are intended for professional artichoke production starting from seed — a method that ensures uniformity and virus-free plants compared to vegetative propagation.
Romano F1 is the quintessential Romanesco artichoke: large head, spineless, appreciated by the Italian GDO.
Green Bell F1 is the variety for the export market: bright green, uniform sizing.
Seeds are available in conventional versions, depending on the variety. Specific availability is indicated for each product. All our seeds are rigorously tested and guaranteed pathogen-free.

ADVANTAGES OF SEED CULTIVATION
Artichoke cultivation from seed (rather than from suckers, corms, or vegetative propagation) offers significant advantages: certified healthy plants, absence of pathogens transmitted via vegetative propagation, uniformity of vigor and flowering. Romano F1 is the reference F1 hybrid Romanesco artichoke: large head (300–400 g), round, spineless, green in color with purple hues.
Green Bell F1 is the export-oriented variety: bright green, long stem, medium-early cycle.
CULTIVATION TECHNIQUE
Artichoke from seed is sown in a nursery (February–March or July–August) and transplanted to the field after 30–45 days. Production begins from the second year, with yields of 10,000–15,000 heads/ha.
ORGANIC AND CONVENTIONAL
The seeds are available in conventional versions, depending on the variety. Specific availability is indicated for each product. Each batch of Smarties.bio pelleted seeds is accompanied by a technical sheet with germination, purity, and harvest year data. Traceability is guaranteed throughout the entire supply chain, from production to delivery.
All our seeds are strictly controlled and guaranteed free from pathogens.
