Pelleted seeds (also known as coated seeds or pill seeds) were developed to meet the precision requirements of modern mechanical sowing. Thanks to the inert-material coating, seeds — often very small and irregular in shape — acquire a standardized spherical form that makes them suitable for single-seed vacuum seeders. The result is uniform distribution, even germination, and a drastic reduction in manual thinning operations.
