IN THE KITCHEN WITH CALVINO’S GARDENER.
Libereso emphasizes the importance of proper nutrition for our health. Fruit and vegetables should be consumed according to their seasonality, harvested when they are most nutrient-dense, rich in vitamins and antioxidants.
Respecting nature’s rhythms is not only beneficial for health but also for our wallets. Libereso’s cookbook offers a journey of discovery through simple and creative dishes, encouraging the use of inexpensive and easily available ingredients such as wildflowers and wild herbs. An approach that defends food biodiversity, reduces food waste, and promotes a more conscious and sustainable way of eating.
Libereso Guglielmi (Bordighera, 1925 - Sanremo, 2026): Gardener, floriculturist, illustrator; he worked at the Experimental Station for Floriculture in Sanremo directed by Mario Calvino. In the last phase of his life, he devoted himself to teaching and outreach.
Claudio Porchia (Chivasso, 1957): Journalist, essayist, and promoter of cultural events. He edited several of Libereso’s publications, including “Diary of an Anarchist Gardener” and “The Herbarium”, published by Edizioni SemiRurali.
The book is available exclusively in Italian.
